Qantas has brought back its biggest annual frequent flyer promotion: Twice as Rewarding. Register your choice of double Status Credits or double Qantas Points, then book by 2 September 2026, and every eligible Qantas flight you take over the following year earns at twice the usual rate.
The order matters. You have to register before you book — registering afterwards won’t apply the bonus to a flight you’ve already ticketed.
The reason this one matters more than the usual week-long bonus offers is the travel window. You only need to book by 2 September, but you can fly any time between 3 September 2026 and 14 August 2027 — close to a full year of doubled earning off a single registration.
The Key Dates
- Register first: by 2 September 2026, and before you make any booking you want doubled
- Then book by: 11.59pm AEST, 2 September 2026
- Travel between: 3 September 2026 and 14 August 2027
- Qantas Hotels & Holidays: book your stay by 2 September 2026 for double points
All three conditions have to be met, in that order — register, then book by 2 September, then travel inside the 3 September 2026 to 14 August 2027 window. Registration and booking close on the same day, so this isn’t an offer you can register for now and book later, and a flight departing before 3 September 2026 or after 14 August 2027 won’t earn the bonus even if you booked it in time.
How It Works
- Register your choice first — double Qantas Points or double Status Credits — in the Qantas App or on the offer page by 2 September 2026. Do this before you book anything. If you’re not a Qantas Frequent Flyer yet, joining is free.
- Then book a Qantas-operated flight with a QF flight number by 11.59pm AEST on 2 September 2026, for travel between 3 September 2026 and 14 August 2027. Flights outside that travel window don’t qualify.
- Add your Qantas Frequent Flyer number to the booking — however you book, whether that’s the app, qantas.com, Qantas Holidays, a travel agent, or your Business Account.
- Fly, and the bonus applies automatically. Qantas emails you a confirmation once you’ve registered.
You can view or change your selection in the Qantas App right up until 2 September 2026. After that you’re locked in, and the same reward applies across every eligible booking — you can’t take points on one trip and Status Credits on another.
What’s Eligible (and What Isn’t)
The offer covers Qantas-operated flights with a QF flight number only. That means:
- Excluded: codeshare flights and partner airline flights, even when they carry a QF number on your ticket
- Excluded: Jetstar and other partner-operated services
If you’re booking a long-haul itinerary that hands you over to Emirates, American Airlines, or another oneworld partner mid-journey, only the genuinely Qantas-flown sectors will earn the bonus. Points or Status Credits: Which One?
This is the only real decision to make, and it comes down to what you actually want out of the next year of flying.
Take double Status Credits if:
- You’re genuinely within reach of Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum One, and have the flights booked to get there
- You’re trying to hold the tier you already have as your membership year winds down
- Lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, and extra baggage matter more to you than a points balance
Take double Qantas Points if:
- You fly a few times a year, but not enough to realistically shift a tier
- You’re building towards a specific redemption — Classic Reward seats, Classic Plus, or an upgrade
- You’d rather have something flexible you can also spend on hotels or the Qantas Marketplace
The trap with Status Credits is halfway commitment. Doubling your earn is only useful if it actually carries you across a threshold; landing at 80% of the next tier with double credits gets you exactly the same benefits as landing at 40% of it. One thing to confirm in the terms if lifetime status is your goal: in previous runs of this promotion, bonus Status Credits earned through the offer haven’t counted towards Lifetime Status tiers. Check the current terms and conditions before you build a plan around it.
Should You Register If You Have Nothing Booked?
Yes. Registering costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and you can change your selection in the app until the deadline. The only thing you can’t do is register after 2 September and have it apply retroactively.
If you’re on the fence about a trip, the deadline is worth factoring in. Booking a flight in the next week that you were going to book in October anyway means a year’s worth of that trip’s earning doubles — the flight itself doesn’t need to happen until August 2027. Just make sure the registration lands before the booking does.
Don’t Forget the Hotels Bonus
Qantas is also running double points on Qantas Hotels & Holidays bookings made by 2 September 2026, with points awarded automatically. If you’re booking accommodation for a trip anyway, stacking it with the flight bonus in the same week is straightforward extra value.
Bottom Line
Twice as Rewarding is the one Qantas promotion most Frequent Flyers should register for by default, purely because the travel window runs almost a year and the registration costs nothing. The catch this time is that booking closes with registration on 2 September 2026, so anything you want doubled needs to be locked in within the week — and registered before it’s booked.
