I asked AI to Draw The Typical Frequent Flyer of Every Australian Airline

ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL-E and other AI tools are amazing, sometimes in how good they are, and sometimes in how awful they are. Sometimes they have incredible knowledge, but contained within that could be hidden stereotypes or biases.

As such, I prompted DALL-E to draw the stereotypical passenger for each of the most popular Australian Airlines. Prompts used were variants of “Draw the stereotypical flyer for [airline X] in the airport or onboard the plane”.

I did run into problems with their content filter for “Virgin” and as such had to substitute with “typical flyer of the Velocity Frequent Flyer program, onboard the aircraft associated with this program”.

So without further ado, the DALL-E trained stereotypical flyers…
