Jetstar NZ to Asia: Christchurch-Singapore from $325, Bali $349, Bangkok & Phuket $425, Seoul $455 One-Way - Ends Monday

Jetstar has an Asia sale running out of New Zealand and it ends Monday 7 September 2026. Eight fares are on offer across two origins and seven destinations, starting at $325 one-way from Christchurch to Singapore. All prices are NZD and all are one-way.

Christchurch has the better end of this sale - five of the eight fares depart from there, including every one of the four cheapest. Auckland’s three fares are all to North Asia: Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo.

About Jetstar

Jetstar is the Qantas Group’s low-cost airline and a regular source of sale fares in both Australia and New Zealand. Alongside its domestic and Trans-Tasman flying it serves the Pacific and a set of Asian destinations, which is what this sale covers. It isn’t a member of a global alliance, but Qantas Frequent Flyer earning is available on eligible fares and add-ons.

As a low-cost carrier, the headline prices below are starter-level fares with the seat and cabin baggage only - checked bags, seat selection, meals and entertainment are all paid extras. On sectors this long that adds up, so price the bag in before comparing against a full-service carrier. More detail on our Jetstar airline guide.

Connection Information

Jetstar doesn’t fly non-stop from New Zealand to any of these destinations, so every fare here connects through an Australian port. Which one depends on the destination and the date - Jetstar’s Asian network operates out of several Australian cities, and the booking page will show you the routing before you pay:

Check the published minimum connection time for whichever airport you transit against the layover you’re actually offered, and note that an Australian transit also means clearing Australian border formalities in most cases. If the two legs come through on separate tickets rather than one booking, a missed connection is your problem rather than the airline’s, so leave yourself more room than the minimum.

About the Destinations

Singapore packs a lot into a small island: the Gardens by the Bay Supertrees and Cloud Forest, the shophouses and food of Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam, and hawker centres like Maxwell and Old Airport Road where a very good meal costs a few dollars. It’s also one of the easiest places to travel with no planning at all, given the MRT reaches nearly everything. See Visit Singapore.

Bali (Denpasar) covers a lot more than the beach strip at Kuta and Seminyak - Ubud sits inland among the rice terraces and monkey forest, Sidemen and Munduk are quieter still, and the sea temples at Tanah Lot and Uluwatu are the usual sunset stops. The February-March travel window here falls in the wet season, which means afternoon downpours, lower prices and far fewer people. More at Wonderful Indonesia.

Bangkok is the Grand Palace and Wat Pho’s reclining Buddha, the canals of Thonburi, Chatuchak weekend market, and street food that stands up to anything in the region. It’s also the cheapest big hub in Southeast Asia to onward-connect from if you want to add Chiang Mai, Krabi or Vietnam to the trip.

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, with the busy beaches at Patong and Kata on the west coast, the old Sino-Portuguese shophouses of Phuket Town, and boat trips out to Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi Islands. The May-June window is the start of the southwest monsoon, so expect cheaper rooms, greener scenery and choppier water on the west-coast beaches. Tourism Authority of Thailand covers both Thai destinations.

Seoul is a city of palaces and hills - Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung’s Secret Garden, the hanok lanes of Bukchon, Bukhansan National Park on the northern edge, and the shopping and food of Myeongdong, Hongdae and Gwangjang Market. The Christchurch window from early February to mid-March catches the tail of a genuinely cold winter, while the Auckland window from late April is spring.

Osaka (Kansai) is Japan’s kitchen: Dotonbori, Kuromon market, takoyaki and okonomiyaki, plus Osaka Castle and the aquarium. It’s also the best base in Kansai, with Kyoto, Nara and Kobe all well under an hour by train.

Tokyo (Narita) needs little introduction - Shibuya and Shinjuku, the temple at Asakusa, the Meiji Shrine, the food halls and day trips out to Hakone, Nikko and Mount Fuji. See Japan National Tourism Organization for both Japanese cities.

One thing to plan around on the Japan fares: the travel windows open on 28 April 2027, which runs straight into Golden Week, Japan’s busiest domestic holiday period in the first week of May. Flights will be fine but accommodation and shinkansen seats get expensive and scarce, so either book well ahead or aim for mid-May onwards.

The Fares

The cheapest fare in the sale is Christchurch to Singapore at $325 one-way, for travel between 19 May and 11 June 2027. That’s a short window - just over three weeks - so it’s the one to move on first.

Christchurch to Bali at $349 is next, and it’s the only fare in the sale with a summer-holidays-adjacent window, running 15 February to 14 March 2027. Thailand comes in at $425 either way you go - Bangkok from 18 to 30 May 2027, or Phuket over a much more generous 18 May to 15 June 2027. Same price, and Phuket gives you nearly a month of dates to choose from against Bangkok’s twelve days.

For North Asia, Christchurch to Seoul at $455 is $25 cheaper than the same destination out of Auckland at $480, and it has the longest travel window in the sale at six weeks, 3 February to 17 March 2027. If you can get yourself to Christchurch, it’s the better of the two.

Japan is Auckland-only, with Osaka at $515 and Tokyo at $526 sharing the same 28 April to 18 June 2027 window - $11 between them, so pick on the city rather than the price.

Every fare here is one-directional in the sale; no discounted fare back was listed, so price the return leg separately.
