About Jetstar

Jetstar is the Qantas Group’s low-cost airline, flying domestically across Australia and New Zealand and to short-haul international destinations in Asia and the Pacific. About the Destinations

Tokyo: Narita is the gateway to Shibuya’s famous crossing, the temples of Asakusa, the food stalls around Tsukiji Outer Market and easy day trips to Nikko or Mt Fuji and the Fuji Five Lakes. Early summer is also hydrangea season around Kamakura. See Japan’s official travel guide (JNTO) for more.

Osaka: Kansai Airport puts you close to Osaka’s Dotonbori street food, Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan, with Kyoto, Nara’s deer park and Kobe all within an hour or so by train. June is Japan’s rainy season, so pack an umbrella.

Seoul: Incheon serves Seoul, home to Gyeongbokgung Palace, the hanok lanes of Bukchon, Myeongdong’s shopping and street food, and the night markets of Gwangjang. Late spring is a pleasant time to go before the humid summer arrives. The Visit Korea site has more ideas.

Jetstar’s Return for Free sale is back for Japan and South Korea, with 14,000 free return fares on selected flights. Buy an eligible outbound Starter fare and the return Starter fare back to Australia costs $0.

Because the return leg is free, the outbound fare is the price of the whole trip. The cheapest we’ve found is $302 return from Cairns to Osaka, with Cairns to Tokyo from $323, Brisbane to Seoul from $342 and Sydney to Seoul from $343.

Club Jetstar members get 12 hours of early access from midday AEDT Tuesday 6 October. The public sale opens at midnight AEDT that night and ends 11:59pm AEDT Friday 9 October 2026, or earlier if sold out. Travel is on selected dates between 2 May 2027 and 8 July 2027, depending on the route.

Fine Print

  • Starter fares include one under-seat carry-on bag. Checked bags aren’t included but can be bought separately, and priority carry-on can be added subject to availability.
  • The return must be booked as one free return Starter fare with an outbound Starter fare, on selected flights.
  • Non-members can join Club Jetstar for $65 (renewal is $55; fees are non-refundable) to get early access before the public sale opens.
  • A payment fee applies to Afterpay and Zip payments.
  • 14,000 free return fares are shared across all eligible routes, so high-demand dates will sell out first.
